William “Bill” A. Jacobs Jr. passed away Thursday, May 9, 2019, in Lewiston. He was born in Lewiston to William and Mattie Gentry Jacobs on March 10, 1926.

He graduated from Lewiston High School in 1944. He worked as a machinist at Potlatch Forests Inc. for 40 years, retiring in 1990.

Bill was a U.S. Army combat veteran of the Korean War, from 1950 to 1951. To honor his service in Korea, Bill was privileged to take an Honor Flight to see the Korean War Memorial and other service-related sites in Washington, D.C., in April of 2016.

On March 15, 1953, Bill married Mary Ann Albright. Bill and Mary recently celebrated their 66th anniversary.

Bill is survived by his wife, Mary, and sons Ray and Mike (Diana). He was preceded in death by his and Mary’s son, Bruce, in 2002.

Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 1906 Broadview Drive, Lewiston; to the Inland Northwest Honor Flight, 608 W. Second Ave., Spokane, WA., 99201; or any charity of choice.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Normal Hill Cemetery.
