Tina Hoisington

Tina Hoisington

5/22/1969 — 4/19/2015

Our beloved Tina went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 19, 2015, at the age of 45, with her best friend, Tom McTevia, while doing what she loved near Sandpoint, Idaho. Thank you to Troy and Tyler Eberhardt for standing vigil over our Tina Babe. We are forever grateful to you.

Tina was born May 22, 1969, in Lewiston, to James and Linda Hoisington. Tina attended school in Lapwai, graduating in 1987. Tina was a Wildcat for life; and a shout out to her classmates of 1987. After high school, Tina briefly attended Lewis-Clark State College before leaving to work for Burger King, where she was the "Burger Queen" and managed several Burger King stores for 15 years. Tina then made a career change and went into banking and worked for Lewis-Clark Credit Union, where she served in a variety of positions, from teller to loan officer. Tina celebrated her 15-year anniversary at Lewis-Clark Credit Union April 17. The family would like to give a shout out to her co-workers and especially her "Gutter Ball Boobies" bowling team.

Tina never married and had no children of her own, but had two godchildren, Phoenix (Missy LaLa) Pea and Xavier (Biggies) Pea, who referred to Tina as "My Teenie." Tina loved Phoenix and Xavier and rarely missed a school or sporting event. Tina took Phoenix to church and could often be found taking selfies with her; hundreds and hundreds of selfies.

Tina's voice was unmistakable, and she would often be asked if her parents were home when she answered the phone. This was one of life's great irritations for Tina. Tina had many friends and always had time for everyone. No request was ever too big or too small of a concern for Tina; she would come running when she was asked. Her smile and enthusiasm for life was contagious. If you met her once, you were her friend for life.

Tina loved the ocean, and her favorite spot was Depoe Bay on the Oregon coast. Her passion was photography, and she had a special love of sunsets and scenery. Tina was also a passionate pie baker. Tina won the Nez Perce County Fair pie-baking contest so many times she was asked to no longer participate. Tina also had many favorite cookie recipes that she loved to make for her family and friends; no special occasion needed.

Tina is survived by her parents, James and Linda Hoisington of Culdesac; her grandfather, Delbert Law of Clarkston; her brother, Russell, who was her rock, and wife Debbie Hoisington of Culdesac; her two best friends, Christina Norman of Lewiston and Shawna Leighton of Lapwai; and many other aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Tina was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Bea and Cletis Hoisington; her maternal grandmother, Geraldine Law; and several uncles and aunts.

Tina was an active member of New Bridges Community Church of Lewiston. A celebration of Tina's life will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at CrossPoint Alliance Church, with Pastor Brad Bramlet officiating. A potluck meal will follow.

Coffelt Funeral Services and Malcom's Brower-Wann Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Please sign the online guest book at www.malcomsfuneralhome.com.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Tina's name to Jackson's Pay it Forward Foundation, 3527 Eighth St. C, Lewiston, ID 83501.
