Stevi Williams

11/26/1982 — 12/28/2023

Stevi Elaine Williams, 41, of Spokane, passed away Thursday, Dec. 28, 2023.

Stevi was born on Nov. 26, 1982, in Lewiston, to Becky R. Branstrom and Glen W. Williams.

She attended the Upward Bound program at the University of Idaho in Moscow during her teenage years in the summers. Stevi graduated from Lewiston High School in 2001. She then went on to pursue a fine arts degree, attending Lewis-Clark State College, Walla Walla Community College and Boise State University. Stevi also received a phlebotomist certification which is where she found the most satisfaction in her life. Her empathy and bedside manner in calming people or making them laugh was a gift. She eventually moved to Spokane, where she worked for Pathology Associates Medical Laboratories for several years and then moved on to Cancer Care Northwest for five years. Stevi had just resigned from her position at Cancer Care Northwest and was in the process of moving to West Richland, Wash., to be with her fiance, Eric Shane Copeland, at the time of her death.

Stevi had such a wide variety of interests. She was a trivia queen. She loved art, music, concerts, movies, books and the Seattle Kracken’s hockey team. She could recite the name of a band member, lyrics or a famous artist even if a person didn’t ask. She thrived on learning and researching any new interest and wasn’t afraid to try anything new with her friends, from axe throwing to Viking reenactment games, museums, attending and dancing in powwows or just walking through a garden in the park.

She treasured time spent with her family and her best feline friend “Dizzy”; also her bonus pets Leelu, Milo and Luna. Some of our favorite memories with her are of camping at Winchester and Harpster; summers at the Coeur d’Alene lake cabin, hunting for morel mushrooms in the spring and picking huckleberries in the late summer; birthday parties, Christmas and Thanksgiving with her cousins; sometimes she was just quiet but having her in our presence was enough. She always had a funny story to tell.

Stevi is survived by her parents, Becky Branstrom-Gebhart and Pete Gebhart; special friend, Bevin Bourland; her fiance, Eric Copeland; Patricia Gebhart; aunts Laura Ashford, Lynn Gebhart, Laura and Steve Baird, Joan and Jack Lawson, Carol and Jeff Hruska, Adita Gebhart and Lorraine Walker; uncles Tim Bashaw, Andrew Gebhart, Paul and Marion Gebhart, Brad and Karen Baldwin, Tommy Goodson and Jeffery Goodson; Many cousins and friends that she adored.

A celebration of life will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, at the Salvation Army Chapel, 1220 21st St., Lewiston. A covered-dish dinner will follow.
