Ronald N. Stellyes passed away at the family home on Sunday, Jan. 28, 2024, joining his wife in heaven. He was born March 25, 1939, in Lewiston, to Earnest and Reta Stellyes and was later joined by a sister, Joyce in 1945. He grew up on the family farm in Reubens graduating from the Reubens school in 1957.

In 1961, he met his wife, Duthiel Longfellow. They were married on Aug. 12, 1961, after a short courtship and were married 61 years. At that time, he inherited her three daughters Sandra, Dawn and Debbie and raised them as his own. They expanded their family in 1962 with another daughter, Brenda, and then a son, Gerald, in 1965 making it complete. He and his wife worked the family farm until 1986 at which time they moved to Lewiston and he worked for Funke’s Custom Cabinets until he retired in 2003. They then moved back to Reubens where he worked for various farmers in the area until 2010.

Farming remained a favorite hobby as well as reading, enjoying his side-by-side, coin collecting and researching family history. One of his favorite accomplishments, besides his family, was receiving the Century Farm designation for the family farm. He was also a member of Good Hope Lutheran Church.

Ron is survived by his sister Joyce Coble of Mead, Wash., his children, Sandra Lawrence (Earl) of Kendrick, Dawn Polotto of Tucson, Ariz., Debbie Stellyes (Keith Olson) of Clarkston, Brenda Stellyes (Russ Poehner) of Batavia, Ohio and Gerald Stellyes (Kirsten) of Puyallup, Wash.
