On Jan. 17 1951, Martha Ann Pate was brought onto Earth. She was born to Ila Fern and Charles Nolin in Excelsior Springs, Mo.

On May 31, 2017, Martha was called back home peacefully as her family sat by her side.

Martha gave birth to three boys: Walter John Pate, Brian Pate and Ralph Arbuckle.

Martha married the love of her life, Gene Burnett. They enjoyed years together before he was called home in 1997. Their lives were filled with friends and adventures.

This desire to enjoy time with friends and loved ones continued after his passing. Martha would be at the side of anyone she cared for in any need they had. Many, many hours playing cards with friends. Some even wondered if she didn't place cards because she seemed to win so much. Martha would be at or running the wheel at Wheel of Fortune, playing bingo, card games, attending fundraisers, helping others who were sick themselves or had moved on to heaven. Over the years, she was a loyal, active member of the Eagles Lodge and the Moose Lodge. Never was anyone left out if it was possible.

Martha has left great memories to her boys, Walter Pate his seven kids, Andrea, Darren, Lori, John, James, Kyleen and Krystin; Brian Pate, his wife October and their two kids, Shaun and Breanna; Ralph Arbuckle, his wife Jeni and their four kids Dakota, Brittney, Victor and Christopher; plus numerous grandchildren who were the light of her life. Her sisters, Charla Caruthers, Susan Hill and Elaine Gardner, and her brother, Stephen Pate, also survive her. Great memories of her also will forever be with all those she held dear who called her mom and sister and friend, grandma, and great-grandma. As we look up to the heavens we can see her joined by her love, Gene Burnett; her mother, Fern; her father, Charles; her brother, David; as well as many loved ones who have gone before.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Malcom's Brower-Wann Funeral Home, 1711 18th St., Lewiston.
