Mark Seymour

2/9/1928 — 2/17/2015

Mark Don Seymour, age 87, passed away at his Lewiston home on Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2015.

He was born on Feb. 9, 1928, to Mark W. Seymour and Grace (Woods) Seymour in Potlatch. After his graduation from Potlatch High School in 1947, he was drafted into the U.S. Navy and transferred into the Army. He was honorably discharged after serving in the Korean War. Upon his return from Korea, he became employed by Potlatch Forests Inc. in Potlatch, and later transferred to Potlatch Corp. in Lewiston.

He and his wife, Marge Henry, raised Diane, Judy, Doug, Mike, Gail, Vicki-Lynn, Steve Hyde and Jim Seymour.

In 1987, he retired from Potlatch Corp. to care for his wife, Marge, until her passing in 1988.

He then met and spent 21 years with his companion, Cheryl Small, traveling across the United States and Mexico being “snow birds.” Mark and Cheryl were involved members of the Escapees Club.

He and his cousin, Chuck Woods, shared a love for biking. They rode many, many miles together in and around Lewiston, Clarkston and Asotin. After a long bike ride sometimes they would stop at the Wrangler or the Hide A Way for a “refreshment.”

There will be a celebration of life at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the Senior Lounge at the Lewiston Community Center, 1424 Main St., Lewiston.
