
Gayle S. Andersen, 85, of Lewiston, passed away Thursday morning, Aug. 28, 2025.
She was born Feb. 20, 1940, in Lapwai, to Charles and Edith Wolcott.
Gayle enjoyed being a majorette in high school and graduated in 1958. She soon married and they started a family in 1960. She loved being a stay-at-home mom and raising their three children. Later she worked at Big V department store and Willett Brothers.
She loved camping with family and friends on the Lochsa and Red River Hot Springs. The last six years she enjoyed spending summer vacations with family at Wallowa Lake. She was lucky to have been able to enjoy three cruises and always looked forward to playing pinochle with her friends every month for many, many years.
She loved her three children dearly, but her greatest love were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Gayle is survived by her two sisters, Barb Chase, of Lewiston, and Pat Gardner and husband Don, of Bullhead City, Ariz.; daughter Terrie Madani, of Lewiston, son Dan Andersen and wife Holly, of Tucson, Ariz. and daughter Lori Smith and husband Rod, of Litchfield Park, Ariz.; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Edith Wolcott, infant brother Charles David Wolcott and brother-in-law Larry Chase.
A celebration of life will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 20, at Malcom’s Brower-Wann Funeral Home, 1711 18th St., Lewiston.
