Douglas Freeman

Douglas Freeman

9/6/1951 — 11/5/2015

Douglas John Freeman, 64, passed away Thursday, Nov. 5, 2015, at St. Luke's McCall Medical Center, where he was taken after he suffered a heart attack that resulted in a car accident.

Douglas John Freeman was born Sept. 6, 1951, in Lewiston, to John William "Jack" Freeman and Evelyn Bernadine Freeman.

Doug graduated from Lewiston High School in 1970 and attended the University of Idaho, where he received a degree in forestry in 1975.

On Oct. 1, 1978, Doug began working for the Idaho Transportation Department, where he was employed until the time of his death.

To those who knew and loved him, Doug was unwavering in his love of family and friends.

In 1986, Doug married Linda D. Nickell and was a devoted husband of 29 years. He also shared in the ministry of the church, often volunteering his time to help in various special projects, including video taping each Sunday's service. He also loved to work "behind the scenes" at the Victory Television telethons. Simply, Doug helped everywhere.

Doug's parents preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Freeman of Lewiston; stepfather Robert (Bob) Bryant of Lewiston; brother Steve and sister-in-law Wendy Freeman; nephews Jeff Freeman and Jonathan (Tricia) Freeman; and niece Jacque (Brian) Murray, all of Vancouver, Wash.; many aunts, uncles, great-nephews, great-nieces and cousins who loved Doug; as well as his many close friends, who were like family.

We welcome all who shared in their love of Doug to join us in celebrating his life at 11 a.m. Saturday at the House of Faith, 2502 16th Ave., in Lewiston, with a dinner to follow in the fellowship hall.

Memorial gifts may be made in his honor to Victory Television, P.O. Box 1227, Lewiston; or the House of Faith.
