Conrad Claye

Conrad Claye

12/30/1961 — 4/9/2017

Conrad Mark Claye, 55 years old, of Cottonwood Creek, was born Dec. 30, 1961, in Lewiston to Christopher Claye, (deceased) and Connie Claye, of Cottonwood.

Conrad attended schools at Phoenix and Culdesac. He was a proud member of the Nez Perce Tribe and Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska. He lived in Phoenix, Arizona and Anvik, Alaska, before moving back to Idaho.

Conrad married Marilyn Chase of Anvik, Alaska, Aug. 5, 1984, and they had three children, Aurora Troit of Salsa, Alaska, Felicia Claye of Moscow, and J.C. Claye of Seeward, Alaska. The couple later divorced.

Conrad liked to hunt in our usual and accustomed areas and to fish on the Columbia River, Selway Falls and the Clearwater River. Conrad knew the true value of the people around him. He loved his family, community and the Nez Perce Tribe. He was respectful and gave thanks every day on Mother Earth. He had a good heart, mind, body and soul. He loved to draw from this harmony and balance in his life into the artwork he created.

He was an accomplished artist. When he saw you there would always be a heartwarming “hi cuz” or “hi auntie” followed by an extended hand and a huge smile. He very much valued his friendships and family.

He leaves behind his companion, Linda Blanton, who he met at Alaska Native Medical Center in Anchorage in 1997; his mother, Connie Ida Allen Claye of Cottonwood Creek; his children, Aurora Troit of Salsa, Alaska, Felecia Claye of Moscow, J.C. Claye of Seward, Alaska; his uncle, Clifford (Sylvia) Allen of Cottonwood Creek; many cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Christopher Claye; numerous Allen uncles and aunties; and his maternal grandparents, Mark and Irene Allen.

Funeral Services will be officiated by the Rev. Mary Jane Miles at 10 a.m. Friday at the Spalding Presbyterian Church in Spaulding. Burial will be at the Spalding Cemetery with a dinner to follow at the Pi Nee Waus Community Center in Lapwai.

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your loved one. It is not an easy thing for any of us to go through. This bible scripture at Revelation 21: 3 With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his people. And God himself will be with them. 4 And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” Along with this website at http://wol.jw.org/en/wol/lv/r1/lp-e/0/22695 has comforted me and and many others. This web site answers a lot of life's biggest questions from the Bible including the loss of our loved one and will we see them again? I hope this brings your family some comfort as it has mine.
