Catrina Rae Tinney, 46, passed away at her Lewiston home Sunday, Sept. 24, 2023, of a brain tumor. Catrina was born Feb. 16, 1977, in Lewiston.

Catrina attended school in Lewiston and graduated in 1995.

Catrina married Blaine Tinney on April 27, 2002, and divorced in August 2023. They had four children.

Catrina brought her unique skills to employers in the area, starting her work career at age 15 working at Lewiston Taco Time, managed Zip Trip, worked at Regence BlueShield, Joe’s Coffee Corner, cashier manager in the business office at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, and lastly, Idaho Department of Health and Welfare, until the onset of her illness forced her to retire at age 45.

She attended Crosspoint Alliance Church and exhibited a deep faith and love for her God that was evident to all those who knew her.

Catrina was very giving and creative using her love for crafting to make gifts to give away to bless others. She loved to read, and she was an amazing cook. Her entire family always looked forward to enjoying her yummy dishes at the holidays. Catrina made life fun, doing anything to provide adventures and entertainment for her children, grandchildren, niece and nephews.

Catrina is survived by her parents, Jerry and Sherrie Wassmuth; daughter Mikalah (Nate) Kaschmitter and their children, Evelyn and Avery; sons Jordan and Kaeden Tinney; sister Tanya Wassmuth; niece Ashlee (Brian) Wilks and their children, Henry and Oliver; nephew Joseph Hill, all of Lewiston; nephew Cameron Wassmuth at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Tacoma, and grandfather Tom Fisher of Pierce.

Catrina was preceded in death by her daughter Morgan; brother Eric; grandparents Herb and Mary Brown; grandfather Louis Wassmuth; grandparents Hugh and Carol Woodin; grandparents Charles and Leota Leder, and grandparents Melvin and Peggy Calkins.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4, at Abundant Life Church, 1483 16th Ave., Clarkston, with Pastor Brett Stedman officiating.
