We lost our brother today, Sunday, Jan. 14, 2018.
William Shawn Ruark-Snodderly, better known as "Billy Rue." He was 55. He was born July 2, 1962, in Lewiston.
Billy is survived by his only daughter, Nicole Greene, 29, of Twin Falls; mother Tish Ruark; dad Bob Ruark (Connie); father Bill Snodderly Sr.; brothers Scott Snodderly and Jon (Jennifer) Ruark; sisters Jani Erickson and Bobbie Jo (Troy) Wilson; stepbrothers Steve, Brad Behrens and Rob Ramsey; aunts, uncles, cousins, many nieces and nephews, along with great-nieces and great-nephews.
Billy played the drums from the fourth grade until he passed. He was proud to be a part of the Lewiston High School marching band. He played in a rock 'n' roll band at a later age and would travel from the West Coast to the Middle East. He worked at multiple other jobs, beginning with Bayliner Boats in Spokane. Billy was a talented ironworker, which led him to travel on many adventures. He also enjoyed working for High Country Archery in the late '80s with his two brothers by his side.
In 1989, Billy was in a car accident that left him with a life-changing head injury. Because of his car accident, he never lost sight of his love for his daughter and life itself.
Billy was a fearless and loving man with a passion for his family, Christ and music.
Billy had a big heart and would spend hours writing poems for his mother expressing the love he had for her.
One could often see Billy riding his bike around town with a big smile on his face, one hand on the handlebar, and the other holding his "Dew." Bill's spirit lives on in everyone he touched. "Billy Rue," you will be greatly missed by all.
A celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Lewiston Veterans of Foreign Wars Hall, 1104 Warner Ave., Lewiston.
