Steven Zimmerman

Steven Zimmerman

5/12/1967 — 2/23/2015

Steven Zimmerman passed away Monday, Feb. 23, 2015, in Juliaetta because of injuries sustained in an accidental fall. Steve was 47 years old at the time of his death.

He was born May 12, 1967, in Moscow to Leota and Howard Zimmerman.

Steve was a graduate of Lewiston High School in 1985. Steve's love of the mountains and the simple life led him to Elk City in 1991. This is where he lived until his death. Elk City allowed Steve to enjoy all the great outdoors had to offer - snowmobiling, four-wheeling, hunting and camping. Time with family and friends were Steve's most favorite way of spending his time. Steve never met a stranger.

Steve is survived by his mother, Leota (Josie) Moses of Juliaetta; his sister and brother-in-law, Nancy Benner-Roberts and Patrick Roberts of Portland, Ore.; his brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Angela Zimmerman of St. Maries; and his niece, Amber Zimmerman of Post Falls, Idaho.

Steve was preceded in death by his stepfather, Charles (Jack) Moses; and his father, Howard Zimmerman.

A covered-dish celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Lewiston Veterans of Foreign Wars Hall, 1104 Warner Ave.

Condolences

Veronica Bilby

I am a friend of Steve's from junior high and high school. So sad to hear the news of his passing. My warmest condolences to his family.

I haven't seen him since we graduated. I remember him as quiet but quick with a smile, a laugh or a witty observation regarding my behavior. He was fun, easy going and seemed to pick his battles well. A good man back then and I can't imagine that changed much over the years. He is missed. See you on the other side my friend ....

I met Steve through the boyfriend I had at the time Steve Walters. We spent time all hanging out together. I remember Steve being very funny. His life is such a loss. My prayers are with his family and friends.

Mike Trail

He was a really good junior, high school friend. Sad news. We had the same birthday he was a year older same class. He would give a rides to school. Many times we would be coasting to the gas station cause we ran out of fuel. He always called me Trailer because of my last name.
