Robert “Bob” Frank Ruark passed away after a battle with kidney cancer, surrounded by family in his childhood home on Wednesday, June 26, 2024.
Bob was born to Gertie and Sylvan Ruark on Feb. 19, 1940, in Lewiston.
Bob lived a fast life from the time he was born.
He was an avid baseball player growing up. Bob was recruited to play for the Pittsburg Pirates out of high school and decided to start a family instead, later becoming a Little League coach throughout the Lewiston community and working at his parents’ concession stands at both Airport and Sunset Park.
He enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting making memories for the entire family and generations at the Lochsa River. As a hunter, he “never” exaggerated any of the hunting adventures he went on and was able to connect to many family members through numerous outdoor excursions.
Bob worked for the Eagles, the Lewiston Tribune, Texaco service station and retired in 1962 from Ledgerwood Farms in Pomeroy. He was a hustler around the pool table tricking most of his opponents into thinking he was right handed.
Bob had a few wives in his day and fathered many children.
Bob married Connie on Sept. 2, 1987, and they lived a very good life together.
He is preceded in death by his mom and dad, first wife Jerice, third wife Tish and son Bill “Billy Rue.”
Bob is survived by his fourth wife, Connie and children: JaniLou, Steve (Carla), Brad (Wendy), Scott, Rob (Brooke), Jon (Jennifer), Bobbie Jo (Troy), Curt (Miwako); numerous grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
