Ricky L. Campbell passed away peacefully Jan. 21, 2017, at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston, surrounded by family and friends.
He was born to Gordon and Joyce Campbell on June 19, 1952. Rick grew up and attended school in Old Town, Idaho. After graduation, he started working for Potlatch Corp., where he worked for 40 years until he was forced to retire when he was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer.
He married Paula Bogar on March 17, 1973. They were married 38 years, until her death in 2011.
Together they had two daughters, Mandy Leigh in 1975, and Jeana Daneal in 1977.
Rick had a passion for hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and the Dallas Cowboys. He loved playing various sports, including basketball and softball. He ran Bloomsday nearly every year, and even ran it in 2015, after his first cancer surgery.
He is survived by his special life partner, Michelle Largent; daughter Mandy and her husband, Curt Liedkie; daughter Jeana Campbell; grandchildren Alexis, Hunter, Madison, Payton and Wyatt; brother Chris Campbell; and Rick's best friend, Tom West. He was preceded in death by his mother, Joyce Campbell; father Gordon Campbell; brother Mark Campbell Sr.; and his wife, Paula.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at SJRMC for their care and kindness shown toward Rick and the family.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday at Confluence Community Church in Clarkston, with a covered-dish reception immediately after.
