Richard V. Samson passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2017, of natural causes at his home. He was 87.
Richard was born Oct. 23, 1929, in Arlington, Neb., to Evan and Emma (McConnell) Samson. He served in the Korean conflict in the U.S. Army beginning in February of 1951, and he was discharged in January of 1953.
Richard married Marjorie J. Nedrow on Dec. 24, 1953, in Lewiston. He loved his horses and also enjoyed trapshooting and hunting.
Richard is survived by his wife of 63 years, Marjorie J. Samson; sons Mark (Terri) Samson and Dan Samson; grandchildren Joshua Samson and Melissa (Nick) Smith; and great-grandchildren Erica Samson, Alexis Smith and Emily Samson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Evan and Emma Samson; son Craig Samson; and three brothers and three sisters.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Lewis-Clark Memorial Gardens in the Lewiston Orchards.
