Phyllis M. Fey passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2018, at Post Falls, Idaho. She was 85.
Phyllis was born March 20, 1933, in Clarkston, to Charles and Edna (Requa) Crawford. The family moved to Spalding, where she started first grade at the old schoolhouse. Her father worked for the Camas Prairie Railroad, and the family lived in railroad housing in Spalding. He passed away when she was 7 years old. The family then moved to Clarkston, where she spent most of her growing-up years.
She and Fred Parsley were married in 1950 in the Methodist chapel in Lewiston. They raised two sons, Jeff and Tim. With the marriage ending, Phyllis married Ted Fey in 1973 in Kendrick at the Methodist church there.
She worked for the Lewiston Country Club and worked as a grocery checker at Cox's Food Center for many years, helping people and watching young ones grow up. She later moved to Kendrick, where she and Ted owned and operated Burt's Cafe. The couple moved to an old farmhouse in Leland, and that is where she learned to crochet. The couple moved back to Kendrick in 1993 when Ted retired.
Phyllis is survived by her husband, Ted Fey; sons Jeff (Margaret) Parsley and Tim (Charlotte) Parsley; stepchildren Jim Fey, Cindi Fey and Helen (Dan) Trautman; as well as nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather Boone Weathermon; two stepgrandsons; and brothers Vern Crawford and Ken Crawford.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Lewis-Clark Memorial Gardens.
