Opal "Juanita" (Brewer) Hedrick was born on Sept. 28, 1936, in Auto, W.Va. She was one of 14 children born to the late Homer and Maggie Brewer. She started her new journey on Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2016, in Spokane, after suffering a heart attack and stroke.
On Aug. 7, 1956, she married Liston Hedrick in Covington, Va. In 1961, they moved to Lewiston. They lived in numerous places in the Northwest until settling in the Lewiston-Clarkston Valley. They pastored the Church of Christ in Clarkston for several years, until just a few short years ago. When she passed, she was a member of the Church of Christ of Lewiston.
Juanita is survived by three of her four children: Brenda (Hedrick) Hanks, Betty (Hedrick) Christensen and Liston (Ed) Hedrick; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and adopted grandson Mike Tanner; numerous brothers and sisters; as well as many other beloved family and friends.
She was proceeded in death by both her parents; two sisters, Bernice and Stella; her daughter, Barbara (Hedrick) Bryant; her stepdaughter, Charolette (Hedrick) Mitchell; and three grandchildren, Kevin Bryant and Brittney and Stacey Hedrick.
A service to celebrate Juanita's life will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Malcom's Brower-Wann Funeral Home, 1711 18th St., Lewiston.
In lieu of flowers, donations to cover final medical expenses can be made to Potlatch No. 1 Federal Credit Union, to Liston and Juanita Hedrick.
