Lovetra Elvene Wilson passed away peacefully Monday, Oct. 3, 2016, in Juliaetta, at the age of 94. She went by her middle name from early childhood.
Elvene was born July 13, 1922, to Lolita (Ells) and Lloyd Hansen at College Place, Wash. She grew up in the Greenacres area of Spokane. Elvene was the oldest of four children, with one sister, Roberta, and two brothers, Melvin and Russell. She graduated from Central Valley High School in 1941. Following graduation, she worked at several jobs until taking a job at Leo's Photography Studio, where she worked for several years and gained a love for picture taking that lasted her lifetime. Elvene worked many years at Browning Cut Stock in Juliaetta until she retired.
Elvene married Earl Witt on Jan. 13, 1947, in Spokane. Earl's well drilling business brought them to Juliaetta, where she lived the rest of her life. Elvene and Earl had three boys, Richard, Roger and Robert. In 1966, they divorced. On Oct. 10, 1969, she married Garnett Wilson. Garnett passed away in 1972.
Elvene attended the Seventh-day Adventist Church faithfully into her early 90s, when her health made it too difficult. She lived simply and was a very giving person to all in need. She loved her family and spending time with them. This included taking many pictures. Following retirement, Elvene volunteered when local elections were held.
Survivors include Richard (Vickie) Witt and Elvene's grandpuppy, Scooter of Juliaetta; Roger (Becky) Witt of Kendrick; and Robert Witt of Juliaetta. Grandchildren/great-grandchildren include Bryan (Kathy) Witt of Lewiston; Jason (Stephanie) Witt and their children, Kael and Natalie of Lewiston; Erin Rishling and Greg Fizzell and children Gracie and Sydney of Moscow; Alexa Witt (Matt Smith) of Seattle; Drew (Amber) Witt and Landon of Kendrick; Aaron Witt and children Satara and Rhiannon of Lewiston; Darcy Holzheimer and children Ashlyn and Brody of Clarkston; sister Roberta Chitwood and family of Spokane; stepdaughter Jesse Wilson Macdonald; and stepson Milton Wilson and their families.

The family wants to thank St. Joseph Regional Medical Center Family Hospice, along with Carolyn Swan of Juliaetta, Ann and Fiona Julius, Care Connection Home Care and Penny Hoisington for their tender care and support. Memorials may be made to Family Hospice or a charity of your choice.
At a future date, a private family gathering will be held at Pine's Cemetery in Spokane, where Elvene's ashes will be placed in her mother's grave. Malcolm's Brower-Wann Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
