It is with immense sorrow that we announce the passing of an amazing man, Kraig Michael Kaufman.
Kraig was born Aug. 10, 1965, at Tri-State Hospital, to Sharon and Gaylord Kaufman. Kraig attended Clarkston Schools until his senior year when he then attended Colton High School and graduated in 1984.
Kraig met his best friend and loving wife, Paula Parsons, and they were married on Feb. 10, 1990. After 11 years of marriage, the biggest blessing of his life was born. Kolby David Kaufman was the light of his world. Soon to follow, Kelli Jolyn Kaufman brought more immeasurable joy to his life.
Kraig was a talented artist and a fixer of all things. Kraig was employed at Coca-Cola in 1988 where he worked his way into being a highly educated service technician. He had many fond memories and met many lifelong friends. He retired from Coke in 2023 and started a new career at Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories. Kraig instantly made new friends and enjoyed the new challenges he faced.
Kraig enjoyed model building, radio-controlled cars, gardening and classic cars. Kraig was often found trying to see how many things he could fix or put back together.
Kraig found the most pleasure just being with his family. Whether it be just hanging out on the deck or hitting the slopes with Kolby and Kelli — that was his most treasured time.
When Kraig became a Christian, his life was complete. God gave him a gentle heart that was full of love and we are forever grateful for Kraig’s love of the Lord. Kraig set an impressive example for his children to follow as they go on with their lives.
Kraig is survived by his wife Paula, son Kolby, and daughter Kelli; his mother Sharon Kaufman, father Gaylord Kaufman; siblings Kim Glass, Kelly (Tegwen) Kaufman; father-in-Law David Parsons, mother- and father-in-law Sandy and Steve Maier, brother-in-law Kelly (Wendy) Parsons, along with many nieces and nephews and many incredible friends.
Kraig was preceded in death by his brother Kerry Kaufman, father Jerry Glass, grandparents “Bud” and Carolyn Nichols, and grandparents Anthony and Katherine Kaufman.
A memorial service will be held for Kraig at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 25, at Orchards Community Church, in Lewiston.
In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to Orchards Community Church Children’s ministry; 822 Bryden Ave., Lewiston, ID 83501.
