Kevin Frances Carlin, 41, passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2019, in Lapwai.
He was born May 5, 1978, to Susan and Rick Carlin, and grew up in Lapwai. He graduated from Lapwai High School in 1996 and later attended Lewis-Clark State College.
Kevin married his high school sweetheart, Jene Ane Bly, and together they had four beautiful children: Ian, Emmitt, Grace and Oliver. They were later divorced. Kevin loved his family dearly and was a devoted father.
Kevin began his career as an apprentice electrician working under his father in the family business, Gem Electric. He worked as a journeyman electrician for more than 20 years and later worked for Boyer Farms. Kevin enjoyed spending time with his children in the great outdoors camping, fishing, bow hunting and whitewater rafting.
He dedicated many weekends to cheering on his sons at local and regional motocross events. Kevin, along with his dad and brothers, served as a volunteer firefighter for the city of Lapwai, where he was a lifelong resident.
Kevin is survived by his four children; his parents; his brothers and their wives, Bryce and Terema Carlin of Lapwai and Chad and Valerie Carlin of Columbia Falls, Mont.; along with his grandfather, Chuck Carlin of California and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by paternal grandmother Laura Carlin; and grandparents Marion and Oliver Henry.
Celebration of life will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 25 at Malcolm’s Brower-Wann Funeral Home in Lewiston.
