Kenny Pearson died at his Lewiston residence on Friday April 13, 2012 at the age of 64. Kenny was born November 12, 1947 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Geraldine Pearson. They moved to Lewiston when he was a child. Kenny attended schools in Lewiston where he was liked by everybody and was an outstanding athlete – “One Punch Pearson” was especially accomplished in football and track. His love of sports continued through his life. Kenny graduated from Lewiston High School in 1966. On October 5, 1967 he married Sue Ward at Headquarters, Idaho. They later divorced but remained close friends.
Kenny, a.k.a. “The Bull of the Woods”, worked for PFI (later known as Potlatch) for 37 years. He started at Headquarters as a sawyer. He was a proud member of the annual log drives on the north fork of the Clearwater River, including the last log drive in 1971. He worked at the Lewiston mill until his retirement in 2004.
Kenny loved hunting, fishing, trap shooting, bird hunting, golfing, four-wheeling and basically anything outside. He liked to cook, especially beans and ham hocks. Reloading shells helped support his shooting activities. Kenny had a special fondness for the North Fork of the Clearwater River and the surrounding area where he spent so much of his life.
Kenny is survived by a son Brian Pearson (and Cori) of Lewiston, a sister Carol Webb (and John) of Reubens, step-brother Mike Fignani of Lewiston, grandchildren Kassi Pearson, Jimmy Pearson, Shilo Storey, and Gracie Ann Pearson, and by great grand sons Clayton and Trevin.
He was preceded in death by his mother Geraldine Sippola, and by sons Jim and Steve Pearson.
