Karen Barth

Karen Barth

10/21/1943 — 8/12/2016

Karen Ellen Anderson Barth was born Oct. 21, 1943, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Lewiston, to Herbert L. and Rose T. Anderson of Clarkston. She became the baby sister to Jeanette M. and Laura Rose Anderson. One blond, one brunette, and Karen with reddish locks.

She grew up in what was at the time semi-rural Clarkston on south Eighth Street with farm animals, an orchard and strawberry fields across the street. At age 5, she started first grade at Holy Family Grade School, ninth grade at Lincoln Junior High, then graduated from Clarkston High School in 1961.

Three days after graduation, she started her office work destiny as a secretary to the lumber sales manager at Potlatch Forests Inc. Later, she worked in Sanger and Fresno, Calif., as a bookkeeper and then as a credit bureau supervisor until returning to Lewiston and going to work for Pacific Northwest Bell as a residential and business service representative.

She was married in 1961 to David Shinn. After seven years, they divorced. In 1973, she married Charles Barth. He adopted both of her children from the previous marriage.

Painting mountain and country scenes on canvas, writing poetry, fishing for trout, growing tomatoes, camping and stoking the fire were her passions. Hiking and exploring were always part of the scene.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Herbert and Rose Anderson; her son, Thad Barth; her sister, Jeanette Ellis; and her brother-in law, Louis Ellis.

Condolences

J.W.

I'm so very sorry for your loss. It is evident that she was a good and kind person, loved and appreciated by many. I recently lost someone close to me and can appreciate the heartache words cannot describe. With that in mind, I am moved to share with you a thought that helped me through the pain. That is the words of Jesus himself in the book of John, chapter 5 and verse 28, 29. He said 'Do not be amazed at this. For the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice, and come out.' I was so relieved to know the bible talks about an earthly resurrection; a time of peace when we will see our loved ones again in perfect conditions according to God's own will. I encourage you to hold on to that hope and learn more. It is my sincere wish that learning of this will give you the comfort it gave me.

Mrs. Lillie

I'm sorry for the loss of your dear loved one, Karen, may you find comfort in the God of all comfort, Jehovah, thru his word, in Psalms 34:18: Jehovah is close to the brokenhearted; He saves those who are crushed in spirit. God's word also says in Isaiah 25:8: He will swallow up death forever, And the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will wipe away the tears from all faces...For Jehovah himself has spoken it.(Psalms 83:18; Titus 1:2) Isaiah 33:24; Revelation 21:3-5; / John 5:28,29; John 11:25,26. This is what God's Kingdom under Jesus Christ rulership, will accomplish in the very near future for all those who love righteousness. The true God, promises in his word, in Psalms 37:11,29:.The meek will possess the earth, And they will find exquisite delight in the abundance of peace 29: The righteous will possess the earth, And they will live forever on it. Psalms 104:5; Ecclesiastes 1:4; Job 33:25; Isaiah 35:5,6; Isaiah 65:21,22; Psalms 37:34.(New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures)
