Judy Ann Adams

Judy Ann Adams

6/28/1943 — 2/8/2026

Judy Ann Adams (née Klattenberg) entered eternal rest Sunday, Feb. 8, 2026. She was 82. Judy was born in Lewiston and raised in Orofino, by her father Walter, a logger, and mother Cleta, a homemaker and Avon saleswoman. While growing up in Jingletown, she cherished the moments she shared with her stepsisters, Jeanette and Norma, her brother Murray, and her cat Pepper. She made many lifelong friends in high school while participating in the pep squad, the drill team, the annual committee, the school newspaper, High Spots, and she spent many days on the Clearwater River. As a teenager, she worked as a flunkie for Potlatch at Camp 11 during the summers.

Judy had the gift of never meeting a stranger and sustained innumerable friendships throughout her entire life.

Judy graduated from Orofino High School in 1961 where she was accepted into the nursing program offered at Orofino Hospital. She was certified as an LVN and immediately began working at Orofino Hospital upon graduation.

She began dating her future husband, David Adams, also of Orofino, whom she had known most of her life. After a short courtship and engagement, they were married in Orofino in 1963.

They then moved to Spokane where David finished his degree at Spokane Community College and Judy worked as an LVN at Sacred Heart.

David accepted a position in Redwood City, Calif., where Judy embarked on her career as a domestic engineer, supplementing their income by babysitting David’s coworker’s children and making their house a home. David and Judy welcomed their two children, Darci and Duane, then bought a new home in Newark, Calif.

She dedicated her life to raising their children as a full-time mother. Her door was always open, welcoming countless neighbors, coworkers and friends, some from the rec sports teams David coached and others she had met along the way. She enjoyed holiday baking, scrapbooking, flea markets and hosting summer pool parties.

When her children were in their teens, Judy resumed her working career at a convalescent hospital. She continued her education obtaining her teaching certificate and began working as an aide at Gan Sameach Nursery School. Judy babysat her grandchildren, neighbors and close friends’ children, leaving lasting impacts on all of their lives.

In 2005, David and Judy retired to Lewiston to help David’s mother, June. There they instantly fell in love with their house on the hill overlooking the confluences of the Clearwater and Snake Rivers, and immediately began fashioning their home, welcoming friends and strangers alike. Judy became active at the Lewiston Church of Christ, weekly Bible study group, volunteering at the Willow Center for Grieving Children, and the Red Hatters.

She is survived by her brother Murray, daughter Darci, son Duane, grandchildren Ashley, Darren, Danielle, Isabella and Angelo, niece Kelly, and great-nephew Dean.

A celebration of life is planned for 12:30 p.m., Saturday, May 30, at Malcom’s Brower-Wann Funeral Home, 1711 18th St., Lewiston, with reception to follow.
