Joyce Ann Howard passed away Saturday, April 2, 2016, in Lewiston, at her daughter and son-in-law's residence, surrounded by loved ones.
Born in 1940 in Bakersfield, Calif., Joyce lived the majority of her life in Southern and Northern California, raising her only child in San Jose, Calif. She retired in her 50s to Boise and later moved to Mt. Angel, Ore., up until her breast cancer diagnosis in 2014. She then relocated to Lewiston to live with her daughter's family.
Joyce was a legal secretary for the majority of her career and even worked at NASA in Southern California in the '60s. She was a kind woman with a gentle spirit who loved animals of all kinds, all things British, a good mystery, and possessed a wicked sweet tooth.
She is survived by her daughter, Michelle O'Connor; her son-in-law, Joseph 0'Connor; and her two grandsons, Greyson and Ronan.
A small memorial service will be held for her at 4:30 p.m. Friday at the Confluence Community Church, 1459 Highland Ave., Clarkston.
Her family would like to thank the oncology staff and the hospice staff at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center from the bottom of their hearts. They were instrumental in giving Joyce quality life while she was here.
