Jeanna Wakefield

Jeanna Wakefield

5/17/1958 — 4/15/2017

Our darling sister, auntie, niece, cousin, friend and beloved girlfriend lost her valiant battle against pancreatic cancer. She amazed us with her tenacity and spirit.

Jeanna was born at St. Joseph Hospital on May 17, 1958, to Don and Carole Baker. She was the baby of our family and so adorable with her beautiful, red hair and lovely heart. She passed into her new life Saturday, April 15, 2017, at the same hospital where she was born.

Jeanna took great pride in any job she held, but her most rewarding position was custodian at Whitman Elementary. She loved the children and staff.

Jeanna lovingly married Dan Wakefield on May 7, 1992. Although the marriage ended, we honor the years of love and respect they enjoyed.

She is survived by her brother, Don (Renee) Baker; sister Colene Kaye and Ed Fackler; aunt Evelyn Thompson; and 18 cousins.

Her children were her nieces and nephews: Kristi (Jonathan) Biggers, Chad (Lisa) Fackler, Donnie (Erin) Baker, Ashley Fackler, Tiffany (Luke) Coffee and Bradley (Kaitlin) Baker.

Her grandchildren were her great-nieces and great-nephews: Aurora, Jotham, Jackson, Naomi, Owen, Oliver, Noah, Makinlee, Carson, Weylin, Natalie and Levon. She loved and was deeply loved by each one.

She leaves the devotion and love of an amazing man, Frank Johnson. We will be forever grateful that he loved and supported Jeanna throughout this horrible journey of cancer. Frank stands tall among all men for the courageous love he put into action.

Our family has been overwhelmed with the love and support of community, friends and "Club 71." Especially enduring has been the Lewiston School District and staff of Whitman Elementary and dear friends Barbara Zielinski Potts and Teresa Pomerinke. All the staff at Saint Joseph Regional Cancer Center and the team at St. Joseph Hospice can rest in the knowledge that Jeanna felt loved and cared for throughout her entire journey.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. April 29 at Orchards Community Church, 822 Bryden Ave., Lewiston. She will be buried at Lewis-Clark Memorial gardens next to our precious brother, John E. Baker.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to St. Joseph's Hospice.
