James Kenneth Boesen passed away Thursday, May 8, 2014, at his home after a long battle with Parkinson's disease.
Jim was born Dec. 4, 1934, to Julius Boesen and Myrna Palmer in Lewiston. He graduated from Lewiston High School in 1953 and was immediately hired at Potlatch, where he worked until retirement 39 years later.
Jim met Lana Stockard at a dance in Asotin. They were married April 20, 1963, and had two children. Jim shared his love of the outdoors with his entire family and taught several generations how to fish, but nothing brought more joy to him than fishing with his wife. Together they have spent countless hours trying to catch the big one, and hiking in the Idaho mountains in search of the perfect game. Family photos are filled with fond memories of adventurous camping trips.
Jim's other hobbies included metal detecting, entering contests and walks around the local block, where he would talk to any and all who would lend an ear. His family is comforted knowing that he is once again able to do all of the things he enjoyed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and his brother. He will be missed by his loving wife, Lana; his children, Sarah Boesen and Jay Boesen (Amy); two grandchildren, Arron Boesen and Jackie Seubert (Kyle); three great-grandchildren; honorary daughter Karla Bing; and several honorary grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Lewis-Clark Memorial Gardens. Memorials can be sent to hospice or Orchards Community Church. His family wishes to thank Addus Health Care and hospice for their assistance in caring for Jim.
