On the morning of Thursday, April 25, 2024, while mom was sleeping, dad (Walt) whispered “let’s go home. I have someone I want you to meet.” Irene was 91.

Many of you may remember Irene from Garden Square Nursery as the pet lady others may have been a dinner guest at the Durland house where your wine glass was never empty and you never left hungry.

The children that survive her: Wally Durland, Jim Durland and Janet (Gene) Kaufman, remember her as a tough and loving mom who taught them to be proud of their culture and made growing up fun and interesting.

Thank you, Life Care staff, for taking such wonderful care of Mom. A private service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
