Harry K. Cowger passed away Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2018, peacefully in his sleep. He was born Aug. 7, 1926, to William and Bessie Cowger. In 1948, he married Dorothene N. Woolfolk. They had two children, Bud and Vivian.
Harry honorably served in the U.S. Army in both Japan and the Philippines. He was employed the majority of his life operating and managing lumber mills in Alaska, Canada, Washington, Oregon, California and Idaho. Harry was a man who believed in the sanctity of your word and the binding nature of a handshake. He was at home in his woodworking shop, and loved hunting and camping.
Harry is survived by his loving wife and kids, as well as his two grandsons and a great-grandson, as well as many nieces and nephews.
There will be a celebration of life from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Hall in Lewiston.
