George Carl Dennler left this Earth in his sleep on Friday, Jan. 26, 2024, taking his stories and jokes with him; he always planned to write a book. He resided in Lewiston.
He was born prematurely on March 25, 1951, to Ernest and Sarah Genevieve Dennler in Spokane. Both of his parents and his older sister, Shirley Ann Hardin, have passed. He is survived by his siblings: Doris Ziegeldorf of Lewiston; Ora (Candy) Dennler of Post Falls; and Gary (Deborah) Dennler of Juliaetta.
George married Linda Farris in 1974 in Coeur d’Alene; ended in divorce. He is survived by his daughter Wendi (Eddie) Wilson of Coeur d’Alene; granddaughter Melissa Smithson and great-grandson Damien Smithson of Coeur d’Alene; grandson Matthew Smithson of Coeur d’Alene; and son Jeremy Dennler of Billings, Mont.
George married Lori Lutskas in 1996 in Coeur d’Alene; ended in divorce. He is survived by: stepson Patrick (Josie) Lutskas of Colville, Wash.; grandchildren Crew Bridgeman, Blaze Bridgeman, Ace Bridgeman, Nash Lutskas, and Maylee Lutskas of Colville; and many nieces and nephews.
George loved and cared for his two dogs, Buddy and Snickers.
George graduated from Genesee High School in 1970. He worked driving truck for many years; he then began working for Whitman County Road Department, retiring from this job. George worked with his hands building many projects in his shop over the years. After retiring, he relocated to Lewiston.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, at Malcom’s Brower-Wann Funeral Home, 1711 18th St., Lewiston, with burial to follow at Fix Ridge Cemetery, Juliaetta. Malcom’s Brower-Wann Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
