Gary Blakeman, beloved brother, friend and community member, passed away Friday, July 19, 2024, at the age of 66. Born on May 7, 1958, in Cottonwood, he was the cherished son of Chuck and Dot Blakeman and the beloved brother of Ron, Ken, Barbara and Judy.
Gary grew up in Craigmont, where he developed a love for the outdoors and a deep appreciation for agriculture. He graduated from Highland High School, where he made many lifelong friends and developed a strong work ethic. He furthered his education by earning an associate degree in Industrial Mechanics from Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston. This education set the foundation for a successful career in agriculture businesses, where he dedicated his professional life to supporting and improving the agricultural community.
Gary was known for his hardworking nature, kind heart, and unwavering dedication to his family and friends. His sense of humor, generosity and integrity left a lasting impact on all who knew him. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to his friends and the farmers he was proud to support.
He will be dearly missed by his siblings, Ron, Ken, Barbara and Judy, as well as his extended family and numerous friends. While our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we find comfort in the cherished memories and the legacy of love and kindness he leaves behind.
The family requests that donations be made to either the Craigmont or Nezperce Fire Departments in his honor.
Rest in peace, dear brother. Your spirit will live on in our hearts forever.
