Lorene Pinion died peacefully in her sleep on the morning of Thursday, July 28, 2016, at Golden Girls Assisted Living in Lewiston.
Lorene was born Oct. 5, 1923, at Waurika, Okla., the youngest of three children, to William Alec and Sallie (Tallant) Stowe. She attended school in Claypool, Okla., graduating in 1941.
Lorene went to beauty school in Wichita Falls, Texas, where she met Edward Pinion, who was in Air Force gunnery school there. They were married June 29, 1946, in Nezperce, after Ed returned from the Philippines where he was stationed during World War II.
They made their home in Culdesac until 1993, when they moved to Lewiston.
Lorene worked at First Security Bank in Culdesac from 1963 until retirement in 1994. She enjoyed baking, sewing, knitting and crocheting. She also loved spending time with granddaughters Kali and Laci and attending their sporting events. Lorene also enjoyed her Saturday hair fixin's with Kathy Owen, Darlene Hill and the other ladies.
Lorene was preceded in death by her husband, Ed, in January 2000; brother Elmer Stowe; sister Georgia Pruner; and brother and sister-in-law Dale and Leatha Jarnagin.
Lorene is survived by her son, Bob Pinion and wife Roberta; granddaughters Kali (Billy) Wolff and Laci Pinion (Matt Ogram); great-grandchildren Willy Wolff and Aspen Wolff; niece Lana (Don) Davis; several other nieces and nephews in Oklahoma and Texas; and sister-in-law Marge Stowe.
I would like to thank Pat Fowler and her staff at Golden Girls for the wonderful care they gave Mom this last year.
At Mom's request, no service will be held. There will be a private family memorial later.
