Eugenia LeiLani "Chubs" Matthews passed away Monday, April 18, 2016, at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston.
Chubs was born Nov. 1, 1944, in Honolulu, to Edward K. Matthews and Margaret L. Smith. She met William Berardinelli in Portland, Ore., who she resided with and later divorced. The couple had one child together. Chubs later met Kenneth Williams Sr. and moved to Idaho in 1974. They married and had two children.
Chubs enjoyed being with her family and friends and going to powwows. She also enjoyed playing pool and softball.
She is survived by her daughters, Maria ULuLani Ellenwood, Lisa LeiLani Berardinelli and Virginia MeLani Williams; and grandchildren Latasha Lawrence, Paul Williams, Yolanda Williams, Joshua Jabeth, Tyler Williams, Dane Williams, Tashina Pena, Rocky Miller and Tiare Miller; and many many great-grandchildren; as well as two sisters and two brothers who reside in Hawaii, as well as many other relatives.
A viewing will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at Malcom's Brower-Wann Funeral Home. A memorial gathering covered-dish dinner and barbecue will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Sunset Park in Lewiston.
