Sunday, July 21, 2024, my precious angel, Estella Elaine Brackenbury Niemann, went to be with her Lord and Savior.
Estella, 76, was born Nov. 24, 1947, in Lewiston to Roderick and Mary Elaine Cole Brackenbury. She was the oldest of her siblings, Dana Bartlett and Roderick Brackenbury.
She grew up in downtown Lewiston, where her parents owned the Hotel Idaho. The hotel was located where Brackenbury Square is now. She was proud to say that downtown Lewiston was her neighborhood playground.
Estella attended College Elementary School, Jenifer Junior High and graduated from Lewiston High School in 1966.
In her younger years she acquired the talent for playing music with the bongos, tambourines, drums and other percussion instruments.
March 21, 1975, she married Thomas Micheal Niemann in the Hotel Idaho.
She worked part-time in the kitchens of the Lewiston School District. She also was a member of the Ladies of Elks of the Lewiston Elks Lodge. Her love of music afforded her the chance to play percussion with some of the entertainers at the Lewiston Lodge.
Her hobbies were collecting movies, camping, fishing, writing poetry, keeping journals, videoing family events, playing pool, darts and watching sports.
By her side when she passed were her husband Thomas, niece Tonia Bartlett and sister-in-law Janice Wadholm.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Dana and husband Wilbur Bartlett. Survivors are her husband, Thomas, and brother, Roderick and brother-in-law Terry Hughes and niece Tonia. Also surviving are many cousins, nieces and nephews in Lewiston and Southern Idaho.
Final services will be announced at a later date.
