Elma Laurine Hazeltine left her earthly loved ones on December 21, 2015 to be with her heavenly family. She had just celebrated her 98th birthday in November. Elma was the first child of Arthur and Grace McMillan of Cloverland, WA. She entered their lives on November 19, 1917. She loved being the big sister to Erma Reid.

Elma attended various grade schools on the Cloverland Flat. She was a proud graduate of the Asotin High School Class of 1937. After graduation she married her love of her life Pearl E. Hazeltine Jr. They settled in Asotin until 1940 when they moved Kendrick, ID to begin farming.

Elma and Pearl were parents of a son, Harold in 1941 whom they loss in 1946. In 1947 they had a son, Dareld and in 1949 they were blessed with their daughter Laurine.

Elma was a hardworking farmer’s wife; she raised her children and helped run the family farm. She held many hats in her life as a 4-H leader, Sunday school teacher, member of the Happy Homemakers of Bear Ridge and a life-time member of the Kendrick VFW Auxiliary. Elma enjoyed spending time with her family; she was known for having many flowers and a beautiful rose garden. She enjoyed sewing, crafting, oil painting and cooking with her daughter and granddaughter.

Elma leaves this earth with a loving family whom will always remember her with great memories. A son Dareld Hazeltine and daughter Laurine Hazeltine of Kendrick, sister Erma Reid of Lewiston, grandson Wyatt Todd Hazeltine of Clarkston, granddaughter and husband Jennifer and Tom Perrigo of Kendrick, and her two great grandsons James Dean and Wyatt Alexander Hazeltine of Clarkston.

There will be a grave side service held in her honor on December at the Normal Hill Cemetery at.   Memorials maybe made to the J-K Ambulance Fund, Kendrick VFW Post 3913, or a charity of your choice.

Much appreciation is given to the J-K Ambulance crew, all the doctors and nurses of Gritman Memorial Hospital, especially Dr. Paul Ammatelli, the Gentiva Hospice, and Aspen Care Center of Moscow for the wonderful care and concern given to Elma and her family.

A graveside service will be held, Wednesday, December 30, 2015, at 1:00 p.m., at Normal Hill Cemetery.
