Sunday, Aug. 28, 2016, we lost Doug to complications of diabetes.
Doug loved the outdoors, whether it was hunting, fishing, camping or just tinkering on a motor. He looked forward to the yearly Chief Timothy camping and boating trip.
Doug was born to Nola (Elben) and James "Orville" Shoemake on June 10, 1969.
He is survived by his children, Ashley Leuck and Dillon Shoemake; two granddaughters; sisters Cheri Poole and Cindy (Dan) Dowell; nieces and nephew Stephanie Poole (Nick), Brittany Poole, Chris Dowell (Sherene) and Cara Hibbard (Chad); and a great-nephew due this week; aunt and uncle Virginia and Wayne Lindley; the Caufield family; great-aunts, -uncles, cousins and many loved friends; and his beloved Rocky.
Preceding him in death were his parents (2013); grandparents; friend Steve Pearson; and "brother" Todd Gay.
There will be a viewing from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Malcom's Brower-Wann Funeral Home, followed by a covered-dish dinner and barbecue at his sister's home. Directions will be handed out at the viewing.
Our hearts are broken, but he is finally at peace.
