Doris M. Wilks passed away Monday, Feb. 24, 2014, at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston.
She was born to Clarence W. and Caroline A. Akers on Jan. 21, 1921, in the town of Webb, Idaho. She grew up in the Lewiston area, graduating from Lewiston High School in 1939. She married Delbert Wilks April 12, 1941, in Lewiston.
She worked at Seabrook Farms, which later became Twin City Foods. At the time of her retirement, she was employed at Smith's Garden Square. Her flowers and yard were very important to her.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; sisters Jean Richardson and Ethel Akers; and a brother, Floyd Akers.
She is survived by her son, Boyd Wilks of Lewiston; granddaughters Natasha Rudolph (John) of Spokane, Shawna Wilks of Lewiston and Talina Smith; two great-grandchildren, Russell and Quincy Rudolph of Spokane; brother David (Judy) Akers of Clarkston; her best friends and nieces, Kathy Taylor of Clarkston, Margie Pontius of Lewiston and Betty Ramsey of Meridian, Idaho; as well as numerous more nieces and nephews who were important to her.
At her request, there will be no service. A family memorial will be held at a later date.
