Cynthia Faye Chapman passed away Saturday, Feb. 25, 2017, in Bend, Ore. She was 66.
Cynthia was born to Ernest Chapman and Ruby Parsons on Nov. 5, 1950, in Lewiston. She attended Lapwai High School for two years and graduated in 1969 from Riverside Boarding School in Oklahoma.
Cynthia lived in Lapwai most of her life but also lived in White Swan, Wash., and Warm Springs, Ore.
Cynthia worked for the Nez Perce Tribe in the accounting department, Warm Springs Health and Wellness in the accounts payable department of the Kah Nee Ta Resort in Warm Springs, and also as a flagger in Idaho for different construction sites.
Cynthia is survived by children Raymond A. Scott, Tayla Scott-Holliday (Tony), Appollis X. Scott (Tashina Smith) and Jessee J. Scott (Arthur); siblings Joe Chapman, Dean Chapman, Debbie Chapman and Gayle Bear; grandchildren Tony Holliday Jr., Brevin H., Kalise H., Isaac, Sarah, Arellya, and Arellie Scott, Shareya and Aldo Scott, Julian and Josephine Badoni and Gracy Beloo, Audra Bernstine, Shania and Antione Scott, Caira, Lil Ray and Leni Scott; and great-grandchildren Monika Stacona, and Taniah and Yaslynn Scott.
She was preceded in death by granddaughter Shikala F. Garcia, son Audrick C. Chapman and sisters Ernestine Chapman and Ann Morrell.
Dressing took place Monday at Malcom's Brower-Wann Funeral Home and was followed by a walusta seven-drum service at Pi Nee Waus Community Center in Lapwai.
