Our Mother, Colleen Friddle (Pound), passed away in Lewiston on Saturday, March 31, 2018, after a long and active life.
She was born Dec. 29, 1925, to Grover and Zelma Pound in Pendleton, Ore. She graduated from Pendleton High School. She met and married Claude Friddle and they were married 65 years. They had three children, Janice, Deana and Kellie, and they raised their family in Lewiston.
Mom was a serious sports enthusiast. In her earlier years she loved playing tennis, golf, fast-pitch softball and Rollerblading. She followed NFL football and always watched the Grand Slam tennis tournaments on TV, and we would discuss the results at great length. She enjoyed fishing and hunting and was very accomplished at both. She was a member of the "Hole-In-One" club at Bryden Canyon. Her lifelong passion was music. She was a gifted saxophone player and was playing and performing up until March 2018. She performed in the Friddle Dance Band and many other bands in the Lewiston area. Playing her beloved saxophone was a continuous source of joy for Mom. She was full of life, had a great sense of humor, was fiercely loyal and made many friends along the way. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her children, Janice Armour (Patrick) of Las Vegas, Deana Cerrillo (Humberto) of Lewiston and Kellie Yates of Nine Mile Falls, Wash.; her grandchildren, Chrissie, Colleen, Humberto, Helena, Alexandra and Kyle; and her great-grandchildren, Ela, Jordyn, Sophia, Ammon, Rylan, Rolan and Elliana. She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude; her parents; sisters Cornelia Prout and Wilma Basford; brother Wally Pound; and son-in-law Marc Yates.
We want to sincerely thank all the people who loved and cared for Mom, including Royal Plaza Retirement Center (assisted and care side), Dr. Donald Greggain and all her friends who visited her.
Special thanks to Donna Carmen, lifelong family friend and "partner in crime."
Mom had requested no funeral services.
Please consider a donation in her name to the Lewiston Humane Society.
Travel safe Mom, we love you. Game, set, match.
