Cody B. Whitlock, 31, of Lewiston was taken from this world unexpectedly Thursday, Feb. 7, 2019, in a tragic car accident.
Growing up, Cody enjoyed bowling, riding his bike throughout Lewiston, playing baseball, fishing, playing video games, camping on the North Fork, watching the jet boat races on the Salmon River and spending time with his dogs.
In May of 2016, Cody’s whole world changed with the birth of his son, Hayden Bill Whitlock. Cody was such a proud father, and his son was the light of his life. In December of 2017, Cody was able to fulfill his lifelong dream by watching his favorite football team, the Oakland Raiders, play in Oakland, Calif., with his cousins, Brandon, Zak and Gunnar Whitlock, as well as many other Raider Nation friends.
Everyone who knew Cody will always remember his contagious smile, laughter and how he enjoyed being a jokester with everyone. He had a deep love and appreciation for his family, friends and his dog, Sissy. If it was up to Cody, he would barbeque every day and be around his loved ones. Cody enjoyed making people happy and loved going over to his parents’ house to split wood for his mom and build her a fire to keep her warm and help his dad out.
Cody is survived by his parents, Kevin and Sue Whitlock; his son, Hayden Whitlock; Rachel Kennedy; brother Kirk (Annie) Whitlock; nephews Ethan and Noah Whitlock; niece Alice Whitlock; his beloved dog, Sissy; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lavern Whitlock, Joyce Whitlock, William Hart and Evelyn Gibson.
A celebration of Cody’s life will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Friday at the Lewiston Veterans of Foreign Wars Hall, 1104 Warner Ave., Lewiston. A covered dish-dinner will follow. To honor his life and passion, the family will be wearing Oakland Raiders gear to the service, and encourage any friends to join them Friday in support of Raider Nation for Cody.
A donation account has been set up at P1FCU in care of Kevin and Sue Whitlock.

I used to spend alot of time with Cody years to be exact until I moved to Pasadena, Ca. I just heard finally today about this unfortunate event and I'm in tears. I am bawling my eyes out as I write this message. I have talked about Cody to many of my friends here many different times because if anyone has ever been able to make me smile or laugh until my stomach would hurt it was him. I don't know anyone else that has ever been able to change your mood from bad to laughing like you were a kid in school again to the point I would have to tell him to stop because my stomach would hurt so....bad from laughing. I will will always remember you Cody for you will always have a place it my heart. You will be forever missed. I love you bro, Michelle Riddle
