Carson J Barton (Jay), 55, died Sunday, Jan. 25, 2015, in Lewiston of natural causes.
He was born April 26, 1959, in San Jose, Calif., to J Lynn and Joyce (Tullis) Barton.
Jay was "born to be wild." He could raise hell with the best of 'em one minute and be the voice of reason the next.
Carson carved out his future by learning many skills from his dad and grandpa Richard Tullis. He took those skills and, as a young man, ventured out into California, where he learned his trade as a carpenter, which ultimately led him to owning his own business, CJ Barton Construction in Deary. Carson spent his last 25 years in Deary, where he enjoyed many things like riding his motorcycle, prospecting, exploring, working in his shop fabricating parts, rebuilding cars and inventing ways to make his homegrown projects come to life. He always loved fishing, especially from his newly restored jet boat.
He loved his family and their reunions and always kept his long-distance friends close with what seemed like endless phone conversations with his old scuba diving and biking buddies.
What he enjoyed most was watching his sons, Jesse and Josh, pursue their dreams in what started as motocross, then hockey, and most recently their music. He was so proud of their achievements, but most proud of the young men they had become.
He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.
He is survived by his mother, sons, five siblings, numerous family members and countless friends.
Cremation has taken place with burial next to his father Saturday at the Paragonah Cemetery in Utah.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in northern Idaho where he resided.
Condolences

Dear, Joyce, Jennifer, Jesse and Josh -
I was so surprised and saddened to learn of Jay's passing. I had talked to him a few weeks ago and he was going to do some odd job repairs/remodeling at the ranch. It was a shock to hear that he is gone.
Losing a loved one at a young age is never easy, so we send our thoughts and prayers to all of you. May God grant you peace and healing.
Sincerely, Steve and Family
