Betty Lou Teigen, 84, returned to her heavenly home Saturday, Aug. 19, 2017.

She was born Feb. 8, 1933, in Bottineau, N.D., to Edward and Ellen Hamel. She married LeRoy Teigen in 1951 in Maxbass, N.D. They moved in 1959 from North Dakota to Viola. They later moved to Genesee, making this their home until the death of her husband in 1984.

Betty worked at Good Samaritan in Moscow as a cook from 1977 to 1985. She loved playing bingo and trying to win the big bucks at the casino, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her kids, grandkids and great-grandkids.

She is survived by children Roger (Nicole) Teigen, Ronald (Kelly) Teigen, Leanne (Joe) Podrabsky, Terri Bledsoe, Doreen (Gary) Longfellow, Vickie (Kevin) Mitchell and Robert (LeeAnn) Teigen. She also is survived by brothers Louis (Teresa) Hamel, Junior Hamel and Larry Hamel; and sisters Elaine (Everett) Larson and Barbara Streich. She also is survived by 32 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy; her son, Rodney; and her daughter, Debbie. She also was preceded in death by brothers Kenny and Eugene, as well as one grandson and one great-grandson.

There will be a funeral at 11 a.m. Thursday at Malcom's Brower-Wann Funeral Home, 1711 18th St., Lewiston. A graveside service will follow at Genesee Valley Cemetery.
