Annette “Nettie” E. Crane passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, May 14, 2024. She was 87.
Nettie was born on July 22, 1936, in Colton. She was the seventh of nine children born to Henry Jr. and Agnes Mary (Broemmeling) Zellerhoff. She attended grade school at Guardian Angel School and graduated from Notre Dame Academy, both in Colton. She was a lifelong member of the Roman Catholic Church.
Nettie worked as a Registered Nurse in Pediatrics for 30 years. She began her career at Sacred Heart in Spokane, and later worked at St. Joseph Hospital in Lewiston.
She married H. Gene Burnett in 1958, in Colton. Together they raised four children in Lewiston. They later divorced. She married David F. Crane in 1982, and they enjoyed life together until Dave’s death in 2012.
Mom was a gracious hostess and was selflessly generous with family and friends. She was an excellent seamstress, gardener and a good cook who enjoyed baking bread and canning. She also enjoyed long drives through the farmland and the mountains. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family. We loved her dearly and will miss her greatly.
Nettie is survived by her son Rick Burnett (Linda), and daughters Ann McEachran (Kelly), Kathy Christianson (Jim), and Kelli Brigham (Jim); and by her extended family, Gladys Schrimsher (Bill), David E. Crane (Colleen), Rick Crane (Cookie), 19 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 19 great-great-grandchildren.
Nettie is also survived by her younger brother James Zellerhoff (Nancy).
A viewing will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 26, at Malcolm’s Brower-Wann Funeral Home in Lewiston.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 27, at All Saints Catholic Church in Lewiston. A reception will follow at All Saints.
