Alvin Beavert of Clarkston passed away at his home Monday, Dec. 7, 2015.
He was born Jan. 27, 1925, in Uniontown, at his grandparents' farmhouse, to Leonard and Katherine Beavert. Alvin attended schools in Uniontown, Genesee and Colton.
On Jan. 8, 1954, he married Louise Grasser at the Hitching Post in Coeur d'Alene. He worked on the family farm until the early '60s. Soon after, Al was hired at the Potlatch mill, where he remained until retirement.
Al enjoyed airplanes, motorcycles, boats, traveling and family. He held a private pilot's license and owned several planes.
Alvin was preceded in death by his father, Leonard Beavert; mother Katherine Luy Beavert; and sister Arlene Williams.
Survivors include his wife, Louise Beavert; and children Teresa Willett, Mary Jackson, Cindy (Les) Slatter and David (Nora) Beavert. His grandchildren include Joshua and Joseph Willett, Quinton, Sable and Grant Jackson, Ridge, Beau and Lane Slatter and David Beavert Jr. He also has a great-grandchild, Lilly-Anne Beavert; a nephew, Terry Colegrove; and a great-niece, Tara Colegrove.
A family gathering tribute will be held at a later date.
