Abby Onda Heitter Forsmann passed away Sunday, Jan. 17, 2016. She was born Nov. 11, 1961, in Grangeville. She loved the outdoors and spent many days out enjoying the sunshine in Idaho, picking huckleberries to make her famous huckleberry bonbons. She loved camping and fishing, was an amazing cook and wrote beautiful poetry. Abby was a positive, caring person with a contagious smile and charismatic personality that she will always be remembered for.
She raised two sons, Justin and Adam, whom she loved beyond measure.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ersal Heitter; and an infant daughter, Kayecha. She is survived by her mother, Norma; and stepfather Byron Sears of Asotin; five sisters, Debbie Pollan of Harpster, Cindy Tromp of Asotin, Vanessa Springer of Moab, Utah, Athena Hancock and Sabrina Heitter of Asotin; and her significant other, Duane Grant of Juliaetta.
Abby graduated from Hellgate High School in Missoula, Mont., in 1979. At the time of her death, she was employed by Colter's Creek Winery and the Juliaetta-Kendrick Senior Center. She was also a member of the KJ Arts Club and the Hill and Valley Garden Club. She had many friends in the community who, along with her family, will miss her dearly.
A celebration of her life and covered-dish dinner will be held at 1 p.m. Feb. 20 at The Moose Lodge in Clarkston, 814 Sixth St.
