Rosemary Goeckner

1/6/1950 — 4/20/2024

Rosemary Goeckner, loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2024, at her home in Ferdinand.

Rosemary was born on Jan. 6, 1950, to Joe and Norma Bies, in Cottonwood. She lived her entire life in Ferdinand.

In 1967 she married the love of her life, Daniel Goeckner, and in 1968 with the aid of Rosemary’s father, they built their lifelong home. Dan and Rosemary welcomed their son Shawn in 1967, and son Jody in 1972, creating a close and complete family.

Rosemary was a meticulous homemaker and gardener and, along with her mother, grew most of the family’s fruit and vegetables for many years. She also was a voracious reader, listened to all types of music and enjoyed spending time with her cat. Rosemary also loved creating floral arrangements for her home and for various celebrations.

Her love of sports began while watching her boys participate in baseball, basketball and football during their school years. She grew into an avid fan of the Gonzaga Bulldogs, the Kansas City Chiefs and the Colorado Avalanche.

Rosemary’s family was very important to her and she cherished every minute that she was able to spend with them. She was a loving and generous wife to Daniel, a patient and kind mother to Shawn and Jody, and an affectionate grandmother to her grandchildren and great-grandson. Rosemary will forever be missed by all who loved her.

Surviving Rosemary are her sons: Shawn and wife Vicki; Jody and wife Sue; grandchildren: Garrett Goeckner, Shane Goeckner, Gabrielle Goeckner and Ka’lynn Joe; and great-grandchild Leighvi Blanco. She is also survived by a brother, Roger Bies, brother-in-law Ted Goeckner and wife Barb, and several nieces and nephews and their families.

Rosemary was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel, and her parents, Joe and Norma Bies.

A private family ceremony will be held in Ferdinand.
